The Peace of Wild Things

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Borrowing Abby's Raincoat

Well, I'm not getting my New Year's card done, but I sure am having fun going through last year's photos! This is Riley with our friend Emily Kate in NYC this past fall. We are looking forward to seeing her again right after Christmas. We love it when Jeanne, Tim, Meghan, EK and Abby come to town. Posted by Picasa

Lunchtime Activities

Riley has been coming to work for lunch every day for two years now. Before lunch we often do some quality work. A reflection of his work is these reflective sticker dots on the cheeks and chin and nose.  Posted by Picasa
